Running your first session

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • The Delta desktop app installed and open.
  • A microphone — your computer's built-in microphone works fine. If your computer doesn't have one, you'll need an external microphone.
  • Sufficient recording or copilot credits. To check your balance, click on your avatar in the top-right corner of the navigation bar to open the side panel, then click Credits. The credits included depend on your plan.

Starting a session

  1. Click the Start session button in the desktop app.
  2. Choose your mode: Recording (transcription only) or Copilot (real-time suggestions).
  3. Select the patient to link the session to.
  4. Begin your consultation — Delta will record the audio in the background.

During the session

A small floating window will appear, showing the recording status and duration. You can minimize it or move it anywhere on your screen.

Ending the session

  1. Click Stop in the floating window or use the keyboard shortcut.
  2. Delta will process the recording and generate structured session notes.
  3. You'll find your notes in the Sessions section of your dashboard.

Tip: For the best results, place your microphone between you and your patient, and minimize background noise.
