Best AI note-taking software for psychologists in France in 2026

Delta, Heidi, Markus Santé, Pllume, myCR, PsyNote and ChatGPT compared for psychologists in France: how they work, data, prices and limits, checked on each vendor's website.

Countries covered : Belgium, Switzerland, France

You are a psychologist looking for a tool that takes your session notes without putting your patients' data at risk. This page compares the tools actually available to psychologists in France in 2026.

We make Delta, one of the tools on this list. We say so upfront, and we applied the same rules to everyone. Every fact comes from the vendor's own website, checked on 8 October 2026. When a piece of information is not published, we say so instead of guessing.

The comparison at a glance

  • Delta, for a patient record that updates after every session, with transcription during the session or dictation after.
  • Heidi, for a very complete international tool with a free version.
  • Markus Santé, for letters and certificates written from a dictation after the session, with a calendar included.
  • Pllume, for a French tool built only for mental health, still in invite-only private beta.
  • myCR, for writing psychological assessment reports from a dictation.
  • PsyNote, for a young French tool designed with a clinical psychologist.
  • ChatGPT, used by many psychologists, but not designed for health data.

Delta

Who it is for. Psychologists and other mental health and allied health professionals, in private practice or in group practices, in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

How it works. Two ways. During the session, Delta transcribes what is said. Or after the session, you dictate your observations in a few sentences. Delta then writes the session report and adds it to the patient's record. The record updates itself with a summary of the follow-up, the goals being tracked and the topics for the next session. Delta takes your approach into account, since a CBT psychologist and a psychoanalytic one do not note the same things. Delta also writes your letters, certificates and assessment reports from your sessions.

Data. Data is stored with a host certified for health data (HDS). The patient's name and anything that could identify them are pseudonymised before reaching the AI. No audio file is kept, and the data is never used to train models.

Price. €29 per month incl. VAT with a yearly plan, €35 per month without commitment. 14-day trial with no credit card, then a free version limited to 10 sessions per month.

Limits. Delta does not handle scheduling or billing. It is a recent tool built by a small team.

More details on the Delta for psychologists page and the security page.

Heidi

Who it is for. All health professions, from doctors to psychologists. The company is Australian and is expanding in Europe, with a French website and a team hiring in France. It reports close to 100 million dollars raised in total.

How it works. Heidi transcribes the consultation and writes a note following the template you pick. A library of user-made templates exists for psychologists. Heidi also writes letters, for example to the patient's GP. There is an app for Mac and Windows.

Data. Heidi says it deletes audio right after transcription, removes what identifies the patient before processing the session, and does not use data to train its AI. Its security page shows ISO 27001 and SOC 2 among other certifications. We could not find on its public pages where French practitioners' data is hosted, nor any mention of HDS certification. That is the question to ask them before you start.

Price. There is a free version, plus Clinician, Practice and Enterprise plans. Prices are not shown on the French pricing page.

Limits. Built for every specialty, so less focused on the long-term follow-up specific to psychology. The featured note templates often follow English-speaking formats.

Markus Santé

Who it is for. Markus is made by BraimIA, a company based in Aix-en-Provence. It is built first with physiotherapists, podiatrists, home nurses, speech therapists and orthoptists. A page is dedicated to psychologists, but Markus states that this profession does not yet have its own group of practitioners involved in the design.

How it works. For psychologists, Markus does not run during the session. You dictate your summary after the consultation and Markus writes the report, the letter to the GP or the attendance certificate in your own template. A calendar with online booking is included in the full plan.

Data. HDS-certified hosting in France, and no use of data to train AI.

Price. €28.80 per month incl. VAT for the assistant and writing. €58.80 per month incl. VAT for the full plan, which adds session transcription and the calendar. 14-day trial.

Limits. For psychologists, the tool relies on dictation after the session, with no transcription during it. The profession is not yet co-designed with psychologists.

Pllume

Who it is for. Mental health professionals only, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and neuropsychologists. Pllume is a French tool, created by Mounir Fassouane for his partner, herself a clinician.

How it works. Pllume transcribes the session, telling speakers apart, then writes a clinical note that you review and approve. It offers more than 30 note templates, keeps a memory of each patient's follow-up and includes questionnaires such as the GAD-7 or PHQ-9. It also writes administrative documents such as letters.

Data. Pllume states that data is hosted in France by an HDS-certified host and that identifying data is anonymised before the AI writes the note.

Price. Free during the private beta, by invitation and with limited places. The announced price after the beta is €20 per month excl. VAT, or €24 incl. VAT.

Limits. Access is by invitation, and the vendor does not publish user numbers. Pllume does not cover allied health professions.

myCR

Who it is for. Psychologists who write assessment reports, especially after psychometric tests.

How it works. You dictate your observations and myCR generates the report. iOS and Android apps are included with the unlimited plan.

Data. myCR states that it uses HDS-certified OVH servers in France.

Price. 14-day free trial with no credit card. We did not find the detailed prices on the psychologists page.

Limits. The tool is built for assessment reports and works by dictation. It does not highlight session-by-session follow-up.

PsyNote

Who it is for. Psychologists and psychotherapists, in private practice or in institutions. PsyNote is made by Atelier Synapse, a company created in Clamart, France, and co-founded by a clinical psychologist.

How it works. You dictate, type or photograph your handwritten notes, or have the session transcribed. PsyNote turns them into a structured clinical note and keeps a memory of each patient, with a life timeline of the record and the option to ask questions about the follow-up.

Data. PsyNote presents itself as a data processor under the GDPR and publishes a data processing agreement. We could not find the hosting location or any HDS mention on its homepage.

Price. Not shown on the homepage.

Limits. A very recent tool, with no public adoption figures so far.

ChatGPT and general-purpose AI

Many psychologists already use it to rephrase a note or draft a letter. The issue is the data. The consumer version is not hosted by a certified health data host, and no data processing agreement protects you. If you use it, remove anything that identifies the patient before pasting text. We explain what you can safely ask it in our article on ChatGPT for psychologists.

Tools we left out

  • Doctolib's consultation assistant was launched for GPs and paediatricians using Doctolib's software, with a gradual extension to other specialties. We found no offer aimed at psychologists.
  • Noteless, a Norwegian tool, has a French website, but no page for psychologists in French so far.
  • Neurobase works on test scoring and test report writing, for example the NEMI-3 with Pearson. Useful for assessments, but not a session notes tool.

How to choose

Ask each vendor these five questions before you commit.

  • Where is my patients' data hosted, and is the host HDS certified?
  • Is audio kept, and for how long?
  • Is the patient's name removed before it reaches the AI?
  • Does the tool keep track of the follow-up from one session to the next, or does it only produce a standalone note?
  • Can I choose between transcription during the session and dictation after, depending on the patient?

We cover these criteria in our guide to choosing note-taking software, and hosting rules in our article on HDS hosting.

What is the best AI note-taking software for a psychologist?

It depends on how you work. If you want a patient record that tracks the patient's progress session after session, Delta is built for that. If you mainly want a calendar and letters from a dictation, Markus Santé covers it. Pllume is built only for mental health but is still in private beta, and myCR is built for assessment reports. Heidi fits if you want a very complete international tool, as long as you check where the data is hosted.

Does session notes software need HDS hosting?

In France, yes. A provider hosting health data for you must be HDS certified (article L1111-8 of the Public Health Code). A psychologist's session notes are health data.

Do I need to tell my patient?

Yes. The patient must know the tool is being used and be able to say no. A poster in the waiting room and a word at the first session are usually enough. If a patient says no, dictating after the session keeps the same follow-up.

Can I use ChatGPT for my session notes?

Not with identifying data. The consumer version is not certified for health data and no data processing agreement protects you.
