Delta vs Neurobase: which AI tool for neuropsychological assessments?
Delta vs Neurobase for neuropsychologists: templates or transcription of the clinical interview, test scoring, plain-language reports, follow-up, data and price, based on each tool's website.
Countries covered : Belgium, Switzerland, France
Delta and Neurobase are two French tools that help neuropsychologists write their documents with AI, but they start from different places. Neurobase drafts the assessment report from a template you fill in, while Delta starts from what is said in the session or from your dictation.
This page follows the steps of a neuropsychological assessment, from the clinical interview to the feedback session, and looks at what each tool brings to each step. We make Delta. So we have tried to be fair, including where Neurobase does better. The information on Neurobase comes from its official website, checked on 15 October 2026. Where something is not stated there, we say so.
Neurobase at a glance
According to its website, Neurobase is for psychologists, neuropsychologists, psychomotor therapists and occupational therapists. The tool is designed in France, and the website presents its founders as neuropsychologists. It is published by Neurobase SAS, registered in Avignon according to its terms of sale.
The website states more than 1,000 professionals supported and more than 19,000 reports generated. These are the publisher's figures, which we cannot check. If accurate, they point to a tool that is already well established. Several of the published testimonials come from neuropsychologists.
It works like this. You follow an assessment template step by step, you tick and adjust, then the AI writes the text. The website states more than 160 customisable templates, with new ones added every week. The publisher also offers to create custom templates. A function called "Vulgariser mon compte rendu" rewrites the report in plain language for patients and their families.
Neurobase also has a partnership with Pearson for the NEMI-3, a French intelligence scale. According to its Pearson page, the tool converts raw scores into standard scores, calculates composite scores and suggests analyses. We found no mention of dictation or transcription on the website. In one testimonial, a psychomotor therapist explains that he keeps the tool open during the intake interview and clicks as soon as he hears useful information.
Delta at a glance
Delta is the clinical assistant for mental health and allied health professionals, including neuropsychologists. During the session, Delta transcribes what is said. After the session, you can also dictate your observations or add written notes.
Delta generates the session report, with a short summary, a detailed summary and topics for the next session, taking your profession into account. It updates the patient record, with a summary of the follow-up and the goals being tracked. You can find the whole follow-up and how it has changed in one place. Delta also writes assessments, letters and certificates, adapted to your profession.
Data is hosted in France with an HDS-certified host, and AI processing takes place in France. The patient's name and identifying details are pseudonymised before the AI step. No audio file is kept. The audio is only used during the session to produce the transcript. The neuropsychologists page presents Delta for your profession.
What sets them apart, step by step
The clinical interview
This is the most visible difference. With Neurobase, you fill in the template during or after the interview, ticking the items you keep. Nothing on its website suggests that the tool works from your voice.
With Delta, you run the interview without typing. Delta transcribes what is said with the patient or the parents. At the end, Delta generates the report of the interview, with a short summary and a detailed summary. If you prefer, you dictate your observations right after the interview.
Test administration and scoring
Here Neurobase has a real advantage. The Pearson partnership brings digital scoring of the NEMI-3, with calculation of composite scores. Its institution page also mentions digital scoring, without details. According to the Pearson page, taking NEMI-3 scoring alone does not give access to the rest of the platform, and the offers are not priced.
Delta does not score tests and does not calculate any score. It has no built-in standardised tests. You score your tests with your usual tools, then you type or dictate the results into your notes. Delta uses them to write the assessment. Your qualitative observations during testing, such as fatigue or the patient's strategies, can be dictated after the session.
Writing the report
Neurobase builds the report from the completed template and the test results. If you like a fixed, detailed structure, this is comfortable, and the choice of templates is wide.
Delta writes the assessment from your notes, your observations and the results you enter, adapted to your profession. You read it through and correct it, as with any tool of this kind. In both cases, the interpretation of the results and the conclusions remain yours. For the structure, our neuropsychological assessment report template can serve as a starting point.
Feedback and plain language for families
The plain-language function is a strength of Neurobase. An assessment report is often hard to read for parents or an older patient. Having a simple version in one click helps you prepare the feedback session. Article 15 of the French code of ethics for psychologists asks them to present their conclusions clearly and in a way suited to the person concerned.
Delta writes letters and assessments adapted to your profession. The feedback session is also a session like any other. Delta can transcribe what is said and produce the report. You keep a trace of the parents' questions and of what was agreed.
Follow-up after the assessment
Neurobase is designed first for the assessment. Its terms of sale refer to help writing the report "and/or follow-ups". We did not find on its website a record that tracks goals from one session to the next.
Many neuropsychologists do more than assessments. Cognitive remediation, support for families, follow-up after a brain injury, these last for months. Delta generates a report after every session and updates the patient record. The tracked goals and the follow-up summary build up over the sessions. When a review assessment or a letter to the doctor comes up, the history is already there.
Data
Both tools state HDS-certified hosting in France. According to its privacy policy, Neurobase hosts data with Google Cloud in Paris and uses Mistral AI for drafting, on text described as "dépersonnalisé" (depersonalised). The method is not explained. Where Mistral AI processing takes place and whether data is used to train models are not stated on its website. Delta pseudonymises the patient's name before the AI step, keeps no audio file and never uses data to train a model. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Price and access
According to its pricing page, Neurobase costs €59 a month, shown instead of €69 with a special offer running, or €590 a year. Its terms of sale state that prices include VAT. The website offers to book a demo, presented as a trial, with no length or conditions stated. A tailored offer exists for institutions and practices.
Delta costs €29 a month including VAT on an annual plan, or €35 a month including VAT on a monthly plan, according to the pricing page. The trial lasts 14 days, with no card required. The page also shows a free plan limited to 10 sessions a month. Delta works in the browser, with a Mac and Windows app recommended during sessions.
Scheduling and billing
Delta does not handle scheduling, billing or electronic claims to health insurance. These functions are not stated on Neurobase's website. Keep your practice management software for these tasks.
Which tool should you choose?
Neurobase will suit you if your work is mostly assessments, if you like working from a detailed template and if the plain-language version for families helps you communicate. It will also interest you if you use the NEMI-3 a lot.
Delta will suit you if you want to run the clinical interview without taking notes, or dictate your observations after each session. It also suits you if you follow patients over time and want to see how they progress in one place. You can try it for 14 days with no card required.
The two are not mutually exclusive. You can keep a scoring tool for tests and use Delta for session notes and follow-up. Either way, test the tool on a real assessment before you commit.
Can Neurobase transcribe or take dictation of the clinical interview?
We found no mention of dictation or transcription on Neurobase's website as of 15 October 2026. The tool works from templates you fill in. If this matters to you, ask the publisher during the demo.
Does Delta calculate scores for neuropsychological tests?
No. Delta does not score tests, does not calculate any score and has no built-in standardised tests. You score your tests with your usual tools, then type or dictate the results. Delta uses them to write the assessment.
Does Neurobase score the WISC-V or the WAIS-IV?
Its Pearson page only names the NEMI-3 for digital scoring. We found no other test named on the website. Ask the publisher for the current list before deciding on this point.
Are both tools hosted in France?
Both state HDS-certified hosting in France. Neurobase names Google Cloud in Paris and Mistral AI in its privacy policy, without stating where Mistral AI processing takes place. With Delta, AI processing takes place in France, after the patient's name and identifying details have been pseudonymised.
Can I use Delta without transcribing the session?
Yes. You can dictate your observations after the session or type your notes. This is useful if a patient or the parents decline transcription.
Do I need to tell the patient before using an AI tool?
Yes, this is the recommended approach. The French code of ethics for psychologists does not mention AI tools, but its article 9 asks them to seek the person's free and informed consent and to explain clearly how the work will be done. Explain what the tool is for and let the person decline.
