Delta or Scielle: which tool for speech therapists?

Delta and Scielle compared for speech therapists: note-taking, assessments and tests, session follow-up, documents, data and price, based on each company's website.

Countries covered : Belgium, Switzerland, France

Scielle and Delta are two AI tools that help speech therapists write their clinical documents. Scielle is first of all software for speech therapy assessment reports. Delta is a clinical assistant that takes the notes of every session and keeps the patient file up to date.

We make Delta. This page compares Delta and Scielle as fairly as we can, including where Scielle does better. The information comes from each company's website, visited on 10 October 2026. It may have changed since.

Scielle in a few lines

Scielle is published by DEV_ON, a sole proprietorship based in Saint-André, Réunion, according to its legal notice. The tool is aimed first at speech therapists (orthophonistes in France, logopèdes in Belgium). It also covers physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychomotor therapists, orthoptists and psychologists. It lists five countries: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Canada.

You dictate or type your notes, or you import the PDF of your test battery. Scielle then generates the assessment report, which you review and sign. You can export it as PDF, Word or ODT. Report generation is reserved for professionals, after a check of their RPPS number.

According to its website, more than 1,300 professionals have signed up, in 5 countries, and more than 23,000 assessments have been generated.

Delta in a few lines

Delta is the clinical assistant for mental health and allied health professionals. During the session, Delta transcribes what is said. You can also dictate your observations right after the session, and add written notes.

From these notes, Delta generates the session report. It contains a short summary, a detailed summary and topics for the next session. Delta also updates the patient file, with a summary of care so far and the goals being tracked. It writes letters, certificates and assessments, adapted to your profession.

What sets them apart

How notes are taken

In Scielle, you dictate, type or paste your notes. The website also describes session notes taken by keyboard, by dictation or by taking a photo of your paper sheet. They stay in the file, and you choose whether to reuse them when you write the assessment.

Delta offers two ways to work. During the session, it transcribes what is said. After the session, you dictate your observations. We did not find any session transcription on Scielle's website.

If you prefer to dictate after each patient, both tools allow it. If you want the session transcribed while you work with the child, only Delta mentions it on its website.

Assessments and tests

This is Scielle's strong point. The website says you can import your test PDFs, up to 5 per assessment. It names EXALANG, EVALEO, EXAMATH, BALE, ELO and EVALO. Scielle extracts the results for the report. Its website also shows the label "CRBO 2026 compliance (amendment 21)". The CRBO is the French speech therapy assessment report.

Delta does not read test PDFs and does not calculate any score. Scoring, test choice and interpretation stay with you. You type or dictate the results you scored, and Delta formats them in the report. Delta offers assessment templates, and you can create your own. Our speech therapy assessment report template lists the expected sections.

If you run many assessments with these batteries, Scielle's import should save you some typing.

Follow-up, session after session

This is where Delta stands out. Each session gives a report, with a short summary, a detailed summary and topics for next time. The patient file is updated after every session, with a summary of care so far and the goals being tracked. When the reassessment or the letter to the doctor comes, the history is already there.

Scielle offers session notes that you write or dictate. We did not find on its website a report generated for each session, or a care summary updated automatically. To structure your notes, see our speech therapy session notes template.

Documents

Scielle produces the assessment report, the letter to the doctor, a prevention note and the prior approval request. Its website describes a template editor (header, logo, fonts, sections) and a questionnaire for parents. It offers electronic signature and export as PDF, Word or ODT. It also has a calendar, called "My day and week planner", and access for a locum.

Delta writes session reports, assessments, letters and certificates. The speech therapy page lists templates for oral language, written language, phonology, articulation and communication, as well as assessments, therapy reports and letters to the prescribing doctor. You can create your own templates, see our clinical document templates. Delta does not handle scheduling or billing. These stay in your usual software.

Professions

Scielle is aimed first at speech therapy and also covers other care professions: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor therapy, orthoptics and psychology. Delta is for mental health and allied health professionals, including speech therapists and psychomotor therapists. In both cases, documents are adapted to the profession.

Data

According to its security page, Scielle hosts data with Amazon Web Services in the Paris region, with HDS certification. AI processing goes through Amazon Bedrock. It can run in an EU region other than Paris, but never outside the Union. The social security number and the doctors' names are masked before processing. The patient's first name or surname stays visible, so the report reads well. The imported test file is not masked: it is sent as is, then not kept after extraction. The page advises hiding the patient's identity on the sheet before import. Scielle states that your data are never used to train models.

Delta hosts data in France with an HDS-certified host, and AI processing takes place in France. The patient's name and identifying details are pseudonymised before the AI step. No audio file is kept. Audio is used only during the session, to produce the transcript. Your data are never used to train a model.

Price

Scielle shows 23.99 euros per month incl. VAT in mainland France (19.99 euros excl. VAT), or 238.80 euros per year incl. VAT in mainland France. The website mentions "1 free trial", without stating its length, and a subscription you can cancel at any time.

Delta offers a Pro plan at 29 euros per month incl. VAT billed annually (348 euros per year), or 35 euros per month incl. VAT with no commitment. A free plan is limited to 10 sessions per month. The trial lasts 14 days, with no credit card.

Over a year, Scielle therefore costs less than Delta Pro, based on published prices. The two tools do not cover the same tasks, so the choice depends on what fills your week.

Which tool should you choose?

Scielle will suit you better if your main workload is assessment reports, you use EXALANG, EVALEO or EXAMATH, and you want to import result PDFs. It also fits if you want a calendar, electronic signature and a lower price in the same tool.

Delta will suit you better if what weighs on you is the notes for every session and keeping track of care over time. Delta transcribes the session or takes your dictation, writes the report and keeps the patient file up to date. It also fits if you want the patient's name pseudonymised and no audio kept.

Both tools have a free trial. The simplest approach is to try each one with two or three patients and compare the text you get.

Are Scielle and Delta hosted in France?

Yes. Scielle hosts data with AWS in the Paris region, HDS-certified, and AI processing stays within the European Union according to its website. Delta hosts data in France with an HDS-certified host, and AI processing takes place in France.

Can I use Delta without transcribing the session?

Yes. You can dictate your observations right after the session, or add written notes. Delta generates the report from these notes.

Does Delta import test results?

No. Delta does not read test PDFs and does not calculate any score. You type or dictate the results you scored, and Delta formats them in the report. Scielle, on the other hand, states that it imports PDFs from several test batteries.

Which one costs less?

Based on published prices, Scielle costs 23.99 euros per month incl. VAT or 238.80 euros per year incl. VAT in mainland France. Delta Pro costs 29 euros per month incl. VAT billed annually (348 euros per year) or 35 euros per month incl. VAT with no commitment. Delta also has a free plan limited to 10 sessions per month.

Do Delta or Scielle handle scheduling?

Scielle offers a "My day and week planner" view of your patients. Delta does not handle scheduling or billing, so you keep your usual tool for that.

Going further

Scielle is not the only tool of its kind. Our comparison of AI report software for speech therapists covers the other options, with their prices and hosting.
