Understanding and editing session reports

Understand the difference between your notes and the generated report, review its content and manage your changes.

Your notes and the generated report

Session notes contains the information you enter yourself. You can add details that do not appear in the recording, or use notes when you have not recorded the consultation.

Report contains the text generated by Delta from the available session notes and recording transcripts. These are separate areas: editing your notes changes the material used for generation; editing the report corrects the result directly.

Open and generate a report

  1. Open the session from Sessions or from the patient's record, then find Report.
  2. If there is no report yet, add useful information in Session notes or finish a recording. Wait for your notes to be saved, then click Generate report when the button is available.
  3. Wait for generation to finish. Processing may first need to wait for the recording's transcription; the report appears when it is ready.

The information button beside the generation action explains its availability and, when applicable, automatic generation after inactivity. If the button is disabled, consult this explanation before trying again.

Read the three sections

  • Concise summary: a short overview of the session.
  • Detailed summary: a fuller account of the information discussed.
  • Topics for the next session: points to review before the next consultation.

Read each section and correct any inaccurate or missing information before using the report.

Edit and save your changes

  1. Click directly in a report field to edit its text. The formatting toolbar appears when the editor is focused.
  2. Your changes are saved automatically. Check the Saved indicator after editing, before leaving the page.
  3. If saving fails, keep the page open, check your connection and use Retry beside the save error.

The labels Generated by AI and Manually edited indicate where each field's text comes from. They do not indicate that you have reviewed or approved its content.

Regenerate after changing session content

If you change the session notes or a recording after generation, Delta may indicate that the report no longer reflects the current session content. When available, the regeneration action creates a new report from that content.

Regenerating replaces all report fields, including your manual edits. Correcting a report field does not require regeneration: its automatic save is enough.

  1. Wait for any changes to your session notes to be saved, then click Regenerate report when available.
  2. Read the confirmation. Choose Keep current report to cancel, or Regenerate to replace it.
  3. Wait for the new version, then review its three sections again.

If generation fails

Check the message shown in Report and your internet connection. Use Retry generation when available. If the problem persists, contact our team using the help block below.
